Guerilla Improv Film "subHysteria" Begins Production November 12
I'm missing in action because of this project but I'll come back on November 18 with fresh personal stories.
New York, NY (Nov 11, 2008)—Based on the industry-changing cinematic styles of cinema verité and the French New Wave, “subHysteria” is a guerrilla film featuring 16 improv actors in a New York City subway car. Filming will take place from November 12 to 16 at the FDNY Training Facility on Randall’s Island in New York City. The film was conceptualized by the award-winning director Leonard Zelig and is a co-production between EO Agency and EGG 7 Films, executive produced by Roberto Alcazar and produced by Javier Perez-Karam. “subHysteria” makes its world premiere in April 2009.
Without warning, a small group of people from all walks of life find themselves trapped underground in the subway. As the hours pass without outside communication, sufficient food, or any conceivable method of escape, the real possibility of death overcomes the passengers. “subHysteria” is a raw display of human behavior when people are forced to confront mortality. With no script, the international cast will be given only character information, a rough plot outline, and their instincts.
